Yep! Even in a committed relationship with trust on both sides, they cause all manner of grief. Errors make it harder to balance the checkbook. Things might bounce. The bank demanding both signatures on stuff makes errands a pain in the ass.

That’s my position! But, man, the people who’ve decided to have a joint checking account with their spouse are very defensive of their decision. Even the people whom I know are constantly arguing with their spouse about their spending.
